Żebbug born and bred, Calcedonia was the daughter of a Filippo and married another Filippo. You can’t be more Żebbugija than that.

She is one of my maternal 3 x great-grandmothers.

She was born on Friday 11 November 1831¹ in Żebbug, Malta². She was the daughter of Filippo Aquilina³ and Grazia Abela⁴. She was baptised in the parish church of Żebbug⁵ on the same day as Giovanna Calcedonia Rosa Filippa⁶.

Family

On Tuesday 21 November 1848⁷ she married Filippo Balzan^{8 9} in the parish church of Żebbug¹⁰.

Together they had 1 child I know of:

Notable events

She must have lived in Zebbug because this is where her daughter was born¹¹.

As was customary those days, she didn’t work and her family described her as a housewife¹².

Death

She was still alive in 1884 when her daughter married¹³. I have no other information about where, when or how she died.
