I set up this site to trace and document my ancestors.
I have so far traced my family line back to 742 AD. As you can see from this site, I have documentation clearly showing my ancestry back to Charlemagne.
Latest research
The last few people I researched are:
- Maria Carmela Borg January 16, 2026 - Valletta-born and raised, Maria Carmela married young, and died before her 50th birthday. She is one of my paternal 3 x great-grandmothers. Continue Reading
- Luigi Xuereb December 19, 2025 - There are almost no primary sources for Luigi given the lack of concrete data around his life. He is one of my paternal 3 x… Continue Reading
- Alberta Galdies December 19, 2025 - Alberta was born into, and married into, into agricultural families. She would have been involved in working the land too, but there is scant evidence… Continue Reading
- Antonio Parteca December 4, 2025 - Antonio lived in Valletta all of his life, which is logical since this the capital was the main source of employment in the 19th century.… Continue Reading
- Giovanni Xiberras November 14, 2025 - Giovanni lived in 19th century rural Malta. There is little practical information about him, but his marriage to a Żebbug-born lady reflects the close connection… Continue Reading
The family tree
You can navigate the tree to some extent. In each page, there are links to that person’s children and/or parents. Take a look by starting with our earliest known ancestor Charlemagne.

Future plans
What you will see here is a direct line from the present day to antiquity. In 2018 I researched the patriarchal line figuring this would be the best way to perform a depth-first search. I have since started to flesh out my female ancestors, where possible, and their ancestry too.
I also plan to research key historical events that involve my family, places they lived in and buildings they owned. In some cases, historical buildings still exist and it should be possible to visit them.
Do subscribe to receive information about new articles. A new article will imply a new family member I’ve researched, or information related to the family.
If you’re enjoying this website and want to support my research, the easiest way would be to donate something.
There are plenty of history books I want to read to supplement the information here, and plenty of national archives and records to trawl through. If you have some information of your own and would like to share that, you can do that too.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
