Details are scarce about this 18th century ancestor of mine. She lived in the burgeoning suburb of Valletta, now called Floriana.

She is one of my maternal 3 x great-grandmothers.

She was the daughter of Salvatore Debono^{1 2} and Antonia³ née Psaila⁴.

Since she died in 1891⁵ at the age of 78⁶, she was born in 1812 or 1813 in Luqa⁷, Malta.

Family

On Sunday 13 January 1833⁸, she married Salvatore Cremona^{9 10} in the Roman Catholic Church of St Paul’s Shipwreck¹¹ in Valletta, Malta. Reverend Joseph Cremona officiated the wedding¹².

Together they had 2 children I know of:

• Vincenzo
• Ludgarda Ersilia Lara Leonida Sophia Gratia Vincentia.

Notable events

She was born in Luqa¹³ and her family moved to Floriana by the time she married¹⁴. Since her daughter was born in Floriana, she lived there at least for the first few years after marriage. She moved to Valletta and her last known address was 53 East Street, Valletta, Malta¹⁵

Death

She died on Tuesday 23 June 1891¹⁶ at 08:45¹⁷ of chronic enteritischronic enteritis. Her family buried her in the Maria Addolorata cemetery¹⁸ in Marsa, Malta.
