There is little information about Gio Leonardo d’Armenia except that he was an Ambassador in 1541.

He is my 10 x great-grandfather.

Gio Leonardo d’Armenia was born in Malta at some point after 1508, son of Eugene Matteo d’Armenia and Paola Mazzara¹.

Titles

As the eldest son of Eugene Matteo, he would have inherited the title of Titular Prince of Cyprus, Jerusalem, Armenia, and Titular Prince of Antioch, Tripoli and Galilee² from his father. Since Venice had ruined the situation in Cyprus this was a meaningless title, without any roles or responsibilities.

Family

Leonardo married Antonia Spiteri but I don’t know when³ or where the marriage took place.

With Antonia, he had 6 children⁴:

Notable events

In 1541 he was a Giurato e Ambasciatore (EN:juror and ambassador) ⁵ but it is not clear who he represented or if this meant that he left Malta or not.

Death

He died in 1556⁶. I don’t know where he died, why or where they buried him.
