A descendant of the Felici family, Giovanni’s surname may have been the result of a typo in his official records.

This person is one of my maternal great-great-grandfathers.

He was born in Valletta, Malta¹. He is the son of Michele², and Caterina Curmi³.

He was 60 when he died in 1891⁴, putting his year of birth as 1830 or 1831.

Family

He married Ludcarda Cremona on Sunday 11 September 1859⁵ in Floriana^{6 7}.

Together they had 6 children⁸:

• Giuseppe
• Antonio
• Paolo
• Maria
• Rosaria
• Maria Concetta

Notable events

At some point he moved to Sliema, since this is where his first son was born⁹. He then moved to Valletta where he lived:

• At 90 Strada Teatro in 1870, according to the electoral register¹⁰.
• His last years at 130, Archbishop Street¹¹.

In 1871, he declared himself to be a cook¹² but by the time of his death he had become a “locandiere”¹³ (EN: Innkeeper). Later, his family listed him as a trader¹⁴.

Death

He died at 01:00¹⁵ on Saturday 8 August 1891¹⁶ at his home in Valletta¹⁷. He died of cirrhosis¹⁸, and his family buried him in the Maria Addolorata Cemetery, Paola, Malta¹⁹.
