Pepin was Italian nobility who took sides in the War of Carolingian succession.
He is my 30 x great-grandfather.
He was born in 817 or 8181, son of King Bernard I of Italy, and his wife Cunegundis2. I don’t know where he was born, but since his father was King of Italy, it is likely he was born in Milan.

Titles
He held the title of Lord of Péronne and St-Quentin, both communes in northern France3.
Family
Pepin married4, but the name of his wife is not known. Since some of his descendants inherited land in the Vexin region, it is possible she was a relative of Nibelung, the Count of Vexin5.
Together they had five children6:
- Bernard
- Pepin
- Heribert
- Cunegundis
- An unnamed daughter who married Berengar, Count of Bayeux.
Notable events
In the War of Carolingian succession, Pepin supported Emperor Lothaire.
