Salvatore was another Borg who lived his whole life in the idyllic rural village of Attard.

He is one of my paternal 3 x great-grandparents.

He was born on Sunday 20 December 1812¹ in the village of Attard, Malta². His parents were Francesco Borg³ and Maria Attard⁴.

Fr Martinus Zerafa⁵ baptised him the day after as Salvatore Michele Stefano⁶.

I have some doubts about these details of birth. While records suggest this is the same person, the church register lists his first, given, name in the margin as “Michael” not “Salvatore”. This makes me wonder if this is the same person, or not.

On Wednesday 11 October 1820⁷, Salvatore Borg received the Roman Catholic sacrament of confirmation at the parish church of Attard⁸.

Family

On Sunday 19 July 1835, he married Maria Zammit⁹ in the parish church of Attard. The banns had been published on the 29th June, the 5th and 12th July¹⁰.

• Giusta

He lived in Attard since this is where his son was born¹². He was still living in Attard when his son married in 1859¹³.

Death

I have no details about his death. Given traditions in Malta at the time, he would have been buried in Attard.
